My packed bag, waiting for me,
The road outside beckon,
The distant hills shiver, call me,
these footsteps their hearts reckon.
Heart starts yearning for fresher taste,
Hardly any time to waste,
It nags my wandering feet,
So many mysteries wait to meet.

a wonderful poem, an Ode to the road, that wandering impulse that niggles at us all. I love the ‘shivering’ hills and the verb ‘nags’ for that izs what such a longing does. I myself have felt this and got it out of my system but wandering around parts of the USA in the mid nineties. I still have that old wanderlust a bit though. Don’t we all?
