Jack in box, jumping puss on bed,
Soft clicking of the ball pen head!
A mystery for every kid
What made them act the way they did.
Then with age the knowledge comes in,
Gathering what’s hidden within.
Mysteries vanish in back stage,
Oh these pains of growing age!

Form Rispetto ~ A Rispetto an Italian form which is a complete poem of two rhyming quatrains abab ccdd. Syllable count is 8 per line
NOTE: I SOMETIMES FEEL THAT WE WRITERS SHOULD ADD A LINE OR TWO AFTER THE POEM TO EXPLAIN THE IDEA/FEELING HIDDEN BEHIND THE POEM.
I TOO READ THE POEM AFTER JOHN QUERIED, I SO AGREE WITH HIM, THE MEANING IS INCOHERENT WITHOUT THE IDEA BEHIND THE POEM.
WELL, I WROTE IT FOR A THEME, “SPRING” NOT THE WEATHER, THE SPRING IN BALL PEN, TOYS ETC.
I HOPE THE POEM IS CRYSTAL CLEAR NOW
an intriguing and beguiling poem with an impish opening; the only trouble is I don’t quite follow it; I;ve read it a few times but … I want to understand. Could you explain?
